In 2021, seniors were scammed out of $1.7 billion in the U.S. and $32.5 million in the state of Tennessee. These numbers are 74% higher than 2020 and have the potential to keep growing. People will say whatever it takes to get your money or personal information, even claiming to be a family, friend or the government. If they seem suspicious, trust your gut and just hang up.
