Patent office approves 3 patents for Collierville innovators in week ending November 27

Patent 16

There were three patents granted in Collierville in the week ending November 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is two more than the week before. Patents included a systems, apparatus, and methods for detecting an environmental anomaly and initiating an enhanced automatic response using elements of a wireless node network and using sensor data from id nodes associated with packages and environmental threshold conditions per package.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending November 27 belonged to Fedex Corporate Services, Inc. who filed in September 11, 2019.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
