Hydronalix, a high technology company specializing in extreme performance, small unmanned vehicles, both for water and air, held Sonar Emily Training for SCSO Volunteer Services Bureau on February 14-15. Sonar Emily is a new resource that will be used throughout our county and possibly region for the recovery of drowned victims, weapons in water, vehicles in water, etc. This new resource will help keep our personnel safe and provide a quicker response to different recovery events. Hydronalix trained personnel from SCSO Volunteer Services Bureau, SCSO Emergency Services, SCSO Reserves, and Shelby County Emergency Management/Homeland Security. Hydronalix used the SCSO Training Academy, Wolf River, and Hyde Lake at Shelby Farms for the training. “We appreciate our partnership with Shelby Farms,” said Jason Bartlett, Director of SCSO Volunteer Services Bureau. “Also, the Sheriff’s Office is constantly looking for new volunteers to join our Search and Rescue.”
