The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, through its Shelby County TN Sheriff’s Assistance Corporation, made donations April 26 to two worthy local organizations: Feed the Needy and Carin’ and Sharin’.

Sheriff Floyd Bonner, Jr. presented a $2,500 check to Ruth Rawlings-Banks, President of Feed the Needy, an organization that provides gift baskets at Thanksgiving and Easter to thousands of struggling families in the Memphis area. Also represented were Feed the Needy Vice-President Johnnie Brumley, and Corrections Deputies Tora Newton, LaDonna Cantu, and Timikia Malone. Sheriff Bonner also gave a $2,500 check to Carin’ and Sharin’ Breast Cancer Education and Support Group, located in Memphis. They were represented by Loretta Hill, Novella Manns, Judy Togbo, and Louise Bates.

The SCSO Community Support Services Bureau, represented by Director Cliff Lafferty, Assistant Director Michael Joffre, Davina Jones, Maurice Hulon, and Deputy Mary Andrus at the check presentation, coordinates and organizes Sheriff Bonner’s outreach and engagement in the community.
