Since the founding of our Nation, every generation has been called upon to continually secure the promise of liberty for future generations. On Memorial Day, we pause to remember our fellow Americans who stood in harm’s way and never returned home to their loved ones. Since 2000, the United States has observed the National Moment of Remembrance on Memorial Day, encouraging all Americans to pause at 1500 local time (3 p.m.) for one minute to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our way of life. As you spend well-deserved time with your loved ones, we encourage you to join us in this National commemoration.
“We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.”
