Shelby County Sheriff's Office Patrol Field Bureau Honors Deputies Who Have Distinguished Themselves in Their Daily Duties

SCSO Patrol Field Bureau honors deputies who have distinguished themselves in their daily duties. On September 15 at the SCSO substation, Sheriff Floyd Bonner, Jr., Chief Deputy Claude Robinson, Assistant Chief Anthony Buckner, Captain John Rada, Lieutenant Corey Warren, and Lieutenant Calvin Grantham awarded a plaque and citation to Patrolman Larry Neal, honoring him as Deputy of the Month for August 2022.

During the month of August, Baker Shift Deputy Larry Neal was involved in a multitude of noteworthy incidents. In one, Deputy Neal located a vehicle taken in a carjacking and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was subsequently charged with Aggravated Robbery. In another, Deputy Neal stopped a vehicle and arrested a suspect wanted for two counts of attempted First Degree Murder out of Prince George’s County, Maryland. Lastly, Deputy Neal stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic offense and upon further investigation located a felony amount of narcotics and a loaded handgun.

Deputy Neal, who serves on the afternoon shift and has been with the Sheriff’s Office since February 2020, is commended for his dedication and proactive approach to his duties.
