On Friday, October 7, Sheriff Floyd Bonner, Jr. and his law enforcement command staff attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for RDX Trucking and Logistics on American Way Drive, just off Interstate 240. Following that event, Sheriff Bonner visited the students at Crump Elementary in southeast Shelby County for a Faith and Blue afternoon assembly.

The SCSO Community Relations bureau, McGruff the Crime Dog, Motors Unit (Patrol car and Motorcycle), Safety Information table with brochures and giveaways, and the recruiting team were on hand for the celebration at Union Valley Baptist Church in Memphis on Saturday, October 8. Pastor Walter Gray and his staff were honored to have the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation partner in this community event. There was food, games, music, and informative sessions available to the community. Thanks to Officer Tora Newton and LaDonna Cantu for making the arrangements.

Easthill Baptist Church held a special celebration on Sunday, October 9, honoring our local police officers and Sheriff Office deputies. Undercover FBI agent and bestselling author Bob Hamer spoke at the service followed by a book signing and BBQ luncheon. Thank you to SCSO law enforcement and corrections deputies for attending this celebration.
