The Sheriff's Office has again received a number of complaints regarding telephone scams where callers are trying to extort money from victims. They often use recordings imitating or purporting to be Sheriff’s Office deputies or detectives. DO NOT provide any information to anyone claiming to be associated with the Courts of Shelby County, the Sheriff's Office, or Memphis Police Department. Please DO NOT leave your home to meet these individuals at ANY location and please DO NOT send any money. Should you receive a call of this nature, notify law enforcement.
