Update: Cancellation of Shelby County Sheriff's Office Inclement Weather Crash Policy

Effective immediately, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Inclement Weather Policy in regards to vehicle crash reporting will be lifted. Deputies will resume normal protocols on handling crash scenes and completing crash reports.

SCSO INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN NOW IN EFFECT

If you are involved in a crash and there are NO injuries, alcohol or drugs involved, and no wreckers are needed, the drivers should exchange names, addresses, phone #’s, insurance information, and tag numbers of the vehicles involved.

BOTH drivers should arrange a time to meet at the Sheriff’s Office substation, located at 11670 Memphis-Arlington Rd., Arlington. 901-222-5859. Drivers should bring with them their vehicle, driver’s license, registration paperwork for that vehicle, and proof of insurance.

File the crash report within ten (10) working days of the crash. If there are any questions as to whether or not the crash meets the above criteria, please contact the NON-EMERGENCY number, 901-379-7625.
